Rancho Tehama Board of Directors
Newsletter January - March 2006
|
| BOARD OF DIRECTORS: The current
members of the Board are: President, Ann Marie Eversole,
Sadie Bentz, Anders White, Bill Massey & Karis Pierce.
We welcomed Karis Pierce and newly elected Anders
White on January 1, 2006. The Board expressed their
appreciation to Penny McGee at the end of her term
as Director at the January 3rd Board meeting . The
Board invites everyone to attend the regular Board
meetings, held on the first Tuesday of each month
at 9:00 am in the Rec. Hall. The third Tuesday of
each month is reserved for Member hearing appointments
only; this is not an open Board meeting. Board members
can be reached through the office at 585-2444. The
Board wants to emphasize that if any decisions are
made that impact individuals in any negative way that
the Board is always available to listen and work out
solutions that are in the best interest of all members
of the Association. |
| FROM THE BOARD: The Association
has it own website www.ranchotehama.org.
We are a non-profit organization, and therefore the
domain is correct. This web site is the ONLY
official source of information for Rancho Tehama on
the web. Since we are still building and adding to
the web site, we encourage you to visit frequently,
and give us suggestions for what you might want to
see added. |
| VOLUNTEERS: We are now in
the process of adding volunteers to several committees.
Anyone who is interested in the Budget/Finance Committee,
and other established committees should put in an
application at the Association Office. We are ESPECIALLY
INTERESTED in getting Volunteers to serve on a new
Planning Committee. With all the new homes being built
here at the Ranch, we are at a cross-roads in terms
of our future. We need you as part of our community
to help make decisions about what we need for our
facilities. If you are interested, please put in an
application with the office. |
| POSITION AVAILABLE: In the
2006 Budget, the Board authorized the hiring of an
individual to keep and improve the grounds of the
Association. This was one of the clear messages that
came out of last year's annual meeting. We all want
an Association that we can be proud of, including
our landscaping. If this sounds like something you
might be qualified to do, please come to the office
and put in an application. |
| ELECTION: The election this
year is for three Board positions for the January
1, 2007 through December 31, 2008. In order to be
eligible to vote in the election and /or to run for
a position, you must be a member in good standing
of the Association. This means ALL OUTSTANDING
FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS DUE TO THE ASSOCIATION MUST
BE RECEIVED IN THE ASSOCIATION OFFICE NO LATER THAN
2:00PM ON MARCH 31, 2006. |
| AIRPORT: Welcome to 2006:good-bye
2005: which left us with lots of rain and growing
things mostly weeds. We had some improvements last
year, two new hangers and one new home. Ron and Sue
Gullickson have a new double wide home and a new hanger
on their property. It had been fun for them trying
to work between storms as it has for everybody on
the Ranch. Dave Barry has his hanger almost finished;
it's the one on the north west side of the airport.
The growth of the airport is continuing at a steady
pace as it is with all of Rancho Tehama. This is a
good thing and should be welcomed by all property
owners. Doug Dugger's airplane that he has been working
on for the last two years has finally taken flight
last Thursday at 2:30; he reports that it flies great.
Bill Massey's zodiac 601 has progressed last year,
it now has the wings installed and he hopes to have
it flying in 2006. Both airplanes are kit built and
from zenith aircraft. Airport use has increased last
year. The airport is part of the Ranch and as such
can be used by any pilot flying in to visit any person
living on the Ranch, for procedures on approach and
landing you can contact Doug (Airport Manager)
@ 585-2515. |
| MAINTENANCE: With the heavy
rains the road crew has been busy during the winter
months trying to keep up with the potholes, unplugging
culverts and drainage. They have been busy repairing
signs and maintaining equipment. The road crew has
also been busy taking care of complaints and work
orders. It would help if all members kept their culverts
cleaned to keep the water flow in the ditches. It
would be greatly appreciated. |
| OFFICE: Things in the office
are running very smoothly. We have gotten control
over the problem of our delinquent dues that we had
experienced for the last several years. We have implemented
policies and procedures, which will keep this from
reappearing. During 2006 we will turn our attention
to updating other areas of office procedures and equipment.
|
| ARCHITECTURAL: Janice Menzies
is Architectural Clerk/ Corporate Secretary: she has
been doing a great job. We have a new Architectural
Committee: they are Dee Oliver chairperson, Jerry
Kohler and Marg Jekel. They are in the process of
developing guidelines for the committee; but hope
to have them completed soon. Once they are completed
the member's will be informed. There are 58 cases
currently open and 30 cases that have been resolved.
There were 59 notices sent this quarter and 29 fines
assessed: 34 job site permits were issued. ALL
LOTS SHOULD HAVE EITHER THEIR ADDRESS OR LOT NUMBER
POSTED! If you do not have either posted on your
lot, please post either address or lot number on your
lot by March 31, 2006. If this information is not
posted on your lot; the Association will post it and
a charge will be assessed to your property account.
Thank you ahead of time for your corporation. Janice
and the Architectural Committee can be reached @ 585-2642. |
